Your Building Unions Picnic has a new venue in 2017 - the Melbourne Showgrounds! That means new options for how you and your family can get there to enjoy a great day out.
Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is helping people get to and from the Picnic Day event, with extra trains running to and from Melbourne Showgrounds.

Car parking is available at Flemington Racecourse for $15 flat rate, access via Epsom Rd.
Trains - Getting to Melbourne Showgrounds
Trains will depart from Flinders Street Station (Platform 8/9) to Southern Cross Station to North Melbourne Station and then travel express to Melbourne Showgrounds Station.
Services will depart Flinders St Station between 09.03am and 3.46pm:
First train will depart at:
Then every 10-12 minutes until 10.47am.
Between 11.05am and 2.05pm, services will depart every 20 minutes.
Between 2.13pm and 3.46pm, services will depart every 10-12 minutes.
Last service will depart Flinders St at:
Trains - Leaving Melbourne Showgrounds
Services will depart Melbourne Showgrounds for Flinders Street Station stopping at Newmarket, Kensington, Nth Melbourne and Southern Cross between 9.25am and 4.08pm.
First train will depart at:
Then every 10-12 minutes until 10.54am.
Between 11.08am and 2.04pm, services will depart every 20 minutes.
Between 2.13pm and 4.08pm, services will depart every 10-12 minutes.
The last service will depart Melbourne Showgrounds at:
Customers on the Craigieburn line are advised to change at Newmarket Station and then catch a Route 57 tram to Melbourne Showgrounds.
Trams - Getting to and from Melbourne Showgrounds
Yarra Tram services will operate along Route 57 from Elizabeth St/Flinders Street (Stop 1) to Melbourne Showgrounds / Epsom Road (Stop 33). Customers are advised to alight from Stop 32 (Epsom Road / Sandown Road –opposite Cole Supermarket) and walk approximately 200 metres to the Melbourne Showgrounds entrance.

Bus - Getting to and from Melbourne Showgrounds
No additional services will operate.
Customers can catch the following bus service from Footscray Station, which travels close to the Showgrounds:
Route 472 - alight at stop RAS Showgrounds/Langs Road (Ascot Vale).

Tickets are available from Shop Stewards or the CFMEU Office, 500 Swanston St, Carlton South. Tickets will be available on the gate, but there may be queues if you have not pre-purchased a ticket.
Wage payment for the day by purchase of ticket (with proof of attendance stamp).
